At this year’s AutoVision, the 13th time the “International Automotive Film and Multimedia Festival” has been held, the coveted OttoCar trophies were awarded once more, at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt. The cinematic short film Audi select #nichtzufassen (#hardtocatch) took home one gold and one silver OttoCar for the Berlin agency, Aimaq von Lobenstein/Saint Elmo’s (AvL/SE) GmbH.
In the most prestigious discipline “Commercials (TV and Cinema) – Category 1 Passenger Cars”, the short film Audi select #nichtzufassen from the Berlin agency Aimaq von Lobenstein/Saint Elmo’s (AvL/SE) was awarded gold. There was then also a silver in the discipline “Online/Interactive/Multimedia – Category 16 Webvideos, Webisodes, Web-TV”.
The biannual creative festival for the automotive industry was once more held at the IAA in Frankfurt – with an impressive international jury: the top experts from business, advertising, film and media included Klaartje Galle (Associate Creative Director, BBDO Belgium), Tzur Golan (Executive Creative Director & Partner, M&C Saatchi Tel-Aviv, Israel), Tony Petersen (Board member German Producers’ Alliance, Film & Television, Advertising Division), Mirabell Schmidt-Lackner (Journalist for Automobilwoche, Germany).
Agencies and producers from 17 countries submitted their work to be critically appraised by the jury. The competition amongst international entries was therefore greater this year than ever before. After the award ceremony, the prize winners celebrated together with 200 invited guests.
Audi select #nichtzufassen (#hardtocatch) – about the film
The roughly 2-minute, short film is centred around a dramatic police investigation and Audi select, an innovative car service from Audi. The film was shown throughout Germany as a cinema spot as well as online. During the Berlinale 2016, the film was shown on the Big Screen at the Berlinale Palast as well as in the Audi Lounge. In addition, various digital formats were released. Alongside the 130 second version, there is a 60 second version as well as several short formats which were used across social media as teasers.
