Big news from the house of Aimaq von Lobenstein: Communications agency Saint Elmo’s, part of the Serviceplan Group, has taken a stake in the Berlin creative agency Aimaq von Lobenstein (AvL). AvL, founded in 1998, which remains a separate agency brand, will be known as Aimaq von Lobenstein/Saint Elmo’s with immediate effect.

After AvL has recently undergone internal restructuring, the two owners André Aimaq and Hubertus von Lobenstein are now embarking on a new chapter, better positioned to meet the needs of the market.


AvL co-founder André Aimaq:

“Our Storymaking approach increasingly requires digital competence. With Saint Elmo’s, we now have one of the leading agencies, with a focus on digital and mobile, as a partner – and simultaneously an international connection through the Serviceplan Group.”

The investment was also engineered by Florian Freiherr von Hornstein, managing director and partner of Serviceplan Group:

“For us, it was always clear: Saint Elmo’s is not Serviceplan’s secondary brand, but the second brand. We are pleased to be further strengthening this position with the addition of AvL.”

The Aimaq von Lobenstein agency has its core competency in the field of brand management and Storymaking. The Saint Elmo’s agency – with offices in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Los Angeles – works with international teams across digital and classic formats.
AvL and Saint Elmo’s have already got to know and appreciate one another over the past few months. For example, Saint Elmo’s built a new, interactive website for Berentzen, an AvL client, whilst also collaborating on some other pitches.
This year, the three agency brands Aimaq von Lobenstein/Saint Elmo’s, Saint Elmo’s Berlin and Serviceplan Berlin will be united under one roof: in the new Haus der Kommunikation (Communication House). The prominent location in the Ziegelstraße in the Mitte district of Berlin was recently redesigned by star architect David Chipperfield.
